COMMON ANDROID ERRORS AND THEIR SOLUTIONS
TECH TIP
For many reasons, android users don't always get their apps from Google Play. The other way to get apps is to download APK files.
Users tend to experience an "App Not Installed" error when trying to install the apk file.
This can be cause for the following reasons.
- Insufficient Storage
In case you have previously been installing without any issues. Lack of storage space in the your device can cause installation problems.
Free up space on your device to install your app.
- Corrupt APK File
The site you got your file from can also be a problem. Always download from trusted sites. I recommended Apkpure and Uptodown.
- Internal Errors
It's possible that some apps in particular refuse to install but others install.
To solve this, you need the Root File Explorer app.
Your phone needs to be rooted for this. Download KingRoot to root your phone if your phone is not rooted.
In the Root Explorer app, go to Root files>>Data. Look for the app that does not install. Delete the file and install your APK file.
If this error still persists, it might be caused by a corrupt system. It can be solved by Factory Resetting your phone (Erasing All Data From Your Device).
NOTE: If you are getting "Parse Error", it means the apk file is incomplete. Make sure the file is fully downloaded or download it from a different site.
2. Unfortunately YouTube Has Stopped.
If you have been getting this error endlessly, it means YouTube has been disabled on you device. Google Protect can mistake YouTube for a virus and notify you to uninstall it.
Uninstalling YouTube form your Android device is not a wise thing to do. It actually disables YouTube, though. YouTube can't be erased from and Android phone.
After you "Uninstall" YouTube, the effects occur when your phone is powered off and on. "Unfortunately YouTube Has Stopped" starts popping up over and over again with only seconds of break.
No need to worry, it can be solved immediately.
Like I said, the error only gives you seconds of break. Within those seconds, make your way to Settings>>Apps. Side scroll through Downloaded>>SD Card>>All till you see "Disabled". YouTube will definitely be there.
Select YouTube and enable it. There! Problem Solved.
3. Can't Connect to Camera/Microphone
This is error occurs when you start your sound recorder or camera.
This error is usually easy to solve. Simply restart or phone.
At worst, take our the battery for a while and put back.
This error can also be caused by other apps. Almost every app in your phone has different permissions to operate. This simply means what the apps need to access to function.
For example,a social media app will access your camera, microphone, data connection etc to operate. Permissions vary with apps.
An app might be interfering with your camera/recorder by working in the background.
Restarting your phones should solve the problem instantly. But, if it doesn't, the app causing this needs to be closed or exited properly.
For convenience, use aSpotCat app.
This app shows all the permissions all your apps have. You will also find all the apps accessing your camera or recorder. The app can be traced there.
Exit the app properly or Force Stop to solve the problem.
4. Google Play Related Errors
These errors can come in different types and ways.
Errors can occur when signing in, reviewing, searching etc. Here are general solutions to common errors like that.
- Check Network Connection
- Restart Your Device
- Go to settings and clear caches and data from Google Play Store or Google Play Services.
- Update Play store or Google Play Services.
- Sign in with a different email.
- Go to Settings>>Accounts and remove Google account. You will need to sign in all your Google based apps again.
Errors also occur when downloading apps.
- Unable To Install App
This can be caused by insufficient storage. Apps can just show "Pending" due to lack of space.
If you have good storage space, then the issue is with your SD card. Simply go to Settings>>Storage and Unmount SD card. Your download can then continue.
5. Apps Stopping
Some time we get errors "Unfortunately (An App) has stopped" when we are using the apps or not. It usually goes back to normal after starting the app again. YouTube is an exception as I explained earlier.
Sometimes this error totally prevents from using that particular app. Surprisingly, basic/primary apps like dailer, contacts, messages, camera etc can be defective like this. Here are the solutions:
- Clear files, boost and cool your device with your security app. Get a security app here if you don't have one.
- Clear caches and data of that particular app.
- Uninstall and Reinstall the app.
If basic apps/primary apps as I mentioned are very faulty, no need to worry. The internet is full of alternative apps to use. Every app you can think of: dailers, contact, radio, camera, clock etc. Download them and start continue your phone normally.
Those are common errors experienced by Android users.
For any issue that persists, the last resort is factory reset.
